Project title: Matroidal structures
Project description: Finding new connections between codes, matroids, graphs, and combinatorial commutative algebra. Although mostly within the realm of pure mathematics, parts of the project has potential applications to the theory of error-correcting codes – in particular linear ones. I use the computer-algebra program MAGMA quite a lot, especially when looking for counterexamples in matroid- or code theory, or when calculating e.g. Betti-tables.
