Research area: Network Security
Project title: Building Network Security Services Using Software Defined Networking
Project description: Cloud Computing is a new computing model, which evolves quite rapidly.
This model has several components, such as computing, networking, and storage. The computing component is based on compute virtulization and has been studied for a few years. However, the networking and storage components are immature. Network virtualization is an emerging research area and its security aspects have not be studied extensively. A major contribution of our research will be related to the network virtualization security. The other component, storage, has already captured researchers? attentions. Variety of storage solutions have been investigated and new technologies are developed to fulfill users? requirements. But a little effort is put into the secure integration of these solutions. Secure network virtualization can improve the storage integration reliability and security.
