Project title: Coding for Distributed Computing
Project description: We consider performance, security, and privacy in distributed computing systems. It seems likely that distributed computing will become more prevalent in the coming years, and that these problems thus will become more acute. For example, bandwidth scarcity is a salient problem in today’s distributed systems. Another is that of privacy in a world where computing resources are increasingly centralized. We consider these issues through the lens of coding theory. This is a novel perspective that is rapidly gaining interest.
